Member of both the Art Directors Guild Local 800 in Los Angeles and IATSE Local 829 in NYC. I work local in both cities depending on project needs. I also have extensive experience working worldwide.
Over the course of my career I have held pretty much every position within the art department. I worked as a Local 52 Property, Leadman and Set Decorator in the NYC commercial and film scene for many years prior to joining Local 829 and the Art Directors Guild and then moved into designing TV commercials almost exclusively for over a decade. Recently my interest and focus has turned towards narrative series work. Few things make me happier than nailing down the proper look to help convey a story. It can be an elusive task that is well worth the long days and extensive research it usually takes to get there.
I am well versed in all forms of digital drafting and modeling software (Vectorworks, AutoCAD, SketchUp, etc). I have experience overseeing all phases of the set building process from early concept designs and ideas into full architectural elevations and complete set builds. I have an extensive knowledge-base of the vast array of materials available for use on projects of all shapes and sizes as well as having strong relationships with the many vendors who provide those materials. I am comfortable supervising large crews while coordinating and budgeting builds between the construction, scenic and set decoration department.
